Goals

One of the key recommendations of the City’s 2015 Housing and Neighborhood Plan is to undertake a comprehensive program aimed at revitalizing the southern Moreland neighborhood of the City through a re-branding of the area as a center of innovation and entrepreneurial activity; a place that generates innovation and ideas; that creates energy and excitement; a “buzz” that strengthens the community and draws people and businesses.

The goal is to create a vibrant mixed use environment where people can live and work in close proximity. This is a major multi-year undertaking in which the City seeks to make Moreland a more dynamic place that attracts and retains a diverse group of residents and businesses by modernizing the existing housing, actively marketing the neighborhood, innovative re-use of vacant lots, creative placemaking initiatives, developing infill housing to diversify the housing stock, and unique public programming.
