How to Respond to this Call for Artists

To​ ​respond​ ​to​ ​this​ ​Call for Artists, please​ ​prepare​ ​your​ ​required​ ​materials​ ​as outlined below and​ ​​submit ​your proposal​ by uploading your documents​ to a competition Dropbox ​​here.  Please upload all materials and images in one PDF file labeled with the project name as the file name. Entrants can submit entries for either the gateways, or the historical markers, or both, but each entry should clearly indicate for which category you are submitting and a different project name and submission form should be used for each entry. The categories will be judged separately.

Entry Materials

Put all materials and images in one PDF file labeled with the project name as the file name and upload to Dropbox here. It must include all of the following:

 

Statement of Interest and Artistic Vision

Applicants must submit a project proposal of up to 1,000 words that states the Artist’s interest in this project, and clearly describes your vision for the project and its relationship to the specific site(s).

 

Itemized Budget

An​ ​itemized​ ​budget​ ​of​ ​your​ ​anticipated​ ​project​ ​expenses​ ​using​ ​the​ ​template here.

 

References

A​ ​list​ ​of​ ​up​ ​to​ ​three​ ​references, with contact information, ​including​ ​at​ ​least​ ​one​ ​that​ ​can​ ​speak​ ​to​ ​the Artist’s​ ​ability​ ​to​ ​serve​ ​as​ ​project​ ​manager​ ​and​ ​the​ ​Artist’s​ ​ability​ ​to​ ​manage​ ​the​ ​fabrication and​ ​the​ ​installation​ ​of​ ​artwork.

 

Relevant Work Samples

Include up​ ​to​ five ​relevant​ ​work​ ​samples​ ​and​ ​a​ ​numbered, ​annotated​ ​image​ ​list​ ​with​ ​title, media, dimensions, ​location, brief​ ​description, date​ ​of​ ​the​ ​work, project​ ​budget, and​ ​project partners​ ​if​ ​applicable.

 

Renderings and Sketches of the Proposed Project

Image size must not exceed 11” x 17” at 300 DPI.
